Farming has been a way of life for generations in the Barkman family and our founders, Darren and Brian Barkman, have evolved their farming knowledge over the years to bring you the very best. In 2020, they began the journey of creating TrueFood, a hydroponic farming company whose mission is to bring the cleanest, tastiest hydroponic produce to communities around the US. Darren, a veteran of the hydroponic farming industry, draws on the local community to run our first technologically advanced greenhouse in Stanton, Iowa. We pride ourselves in using the most natural growing practices, like relying on ladybugs, to protect our hydroponic lettuce, herbs, and specialty greens from aphids and thrips. Our first operation, and future operations, are dedicated to local communities, servicing grocery stores, restaurants, schools, hospitals, farmers markets, and more. This is just the beginning - over the years we plan to open additional hydroponic greenhouses in local communities across the US and will always be dedicated to local communities.
